Movies To Love For, Beastly!!

Hello out there in blogging la-la world!

Its that time of the week again, yep you guessed it! my weekly segment, Movies to Love For!
This week my choice is Beastly! I saw it over the weekend with my Mum and sister
at the dollar theater  (ha ha) and i loved it! I think it tugged on my childhood heartstrings with my undying love for the Disney version of Beauty and The Beast.

So no description of the movie is really necessary since I'm sure that close to everyone has seen the Disney version with the talking Teapot and Candle stick ha ha.

Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer are the stars of this flick but, they aren't the only known faces.  Mary-Kate Olsen plays the Witch that puts the handsome jerk through all of the chaos and she does a great job i must add. Also, Neil Patrick Harris does an amazing job! he plays Kyles blind tutor and he his so adorable!!!

My favorite scene of the whole movie has got to be when Kyle(the beast) tries to win Lindy's affection by buying her a ton of really expensive and extravagant things that she doesn't want.  Very much like in the Disney movie he knocks at her door and she wont come out.  Finally he figures out that he has to give her things that she would personally love so he buys her a big box of Jujubes that she accepts.
I also LOVE that he writes her this amazingly long letter.  After he was turned into Beastly he runs into her at a Halloween party, she doesn't recognize him of course and she tells him how its a sad thing that long love letters aren't custom anymore.  Once she moves into his place he starts to write her a letter and adds onto it every night.  Its so romantic, the mushy side of me loves it!

I think they do a really creative job at making him look "beastly" but at the same time i feel like hes still pretty hot lol, am i the only one? i don't know, there is just something about his sulking that i find appealing.
Watching the romance build between the two is so sweet, you cant help but let out long sighs of hope while watching them just be around each other.

If you enjoy a good love story then i highly recommend this film, it reminds us that there still is some romance out there, we just have to be patient and open-minded/hearted to find it.

with loving sighs of hope,

Hoppy Easter! C=

Happy Easter everyone! I hope everyone is having a blessed Easter even if they aren't doing anything special like myself!  I went to church this morning with my mum and sister...

Isn't this window beautiful? every time i go to church i admire its beauty.

Then we went out for lunch, nothing special just some burgers at Farmer Boys ha ha, my sisters favorite burger joint.

After that we came home and i remembered that its my dog Chester's first Easter! so i decided to grab my little stinky companions and take a few pictures.

Sadly they weren't quite cooperating... Chester kept either running off with the Easter eggs or licking himself as he so happily demonstrates in the picture above... ugh...

Luna was just happy to be held on this chilly Easter Sunday though, she herself refused to look up as my sister used every phrase involving the words "treat" and "go" in hopes of getting her to look up.

Oh the joys of doggy parenting! ha ha

Well, once again i hope you all are having a beautiful Easter Sunday!

Back to watching the first season of True Blood with my lovely sister i go!

Darling, I missed you then, do now, and will again.

Tonight i miss you more than usual...

I miss you like i always do to be quite honest, its dormant most of the time but when i do miss you its always at the same unchanging level. I know you have tried just as i have but it was never the same since the night i packed and headed back west. What we broke never could be fixed.

I gave you everything years ago and though we are separated by miles, states, rivers, reality... you cling  to my skin like an unwavering, familiar scent.

What happened to us?

I thought we would always be this unmoving realm of flesh and blood, breathing and living, foolish and happy.  Look at us then so fresh and new, what a tragedy we managed to become.

Look at us now, bittersweet fleeting moments.

I love you still, darling.

Memories and smiles on this Good Friday!

It's finally Friday! Good Friday to be exact! i must say I'm pretty happy about the idea of no longer feeling immensely bad for accidentally eating meat of Fridays lol.  I don't have any big plans for Easter, do any of you? my family usually unite at my aunts house to celebrate but since my direct family and myself have moved around 2 hours away I'm not sure if we will be attending =[.

On a lighter note school is almost over! then summer starts and i can fill my days with crafts! i wanna learn so much this summer so i can fill my Etsy shop with tons of little handmade treasures.

I've been feeling a bit down lately so i decided that i would fill my day with great memories and tons of little things that make me smile.  So that's what today is all about here in blog world! the things that make me happy!

Here's a few memories!
Me, Tozzi and Vanessa.  Girls night out/sleepover.  Its been a while since Ive seen them and i love and miss them so much.
My house covered in snow! it was the first time in 11 years that it snowed that much in the high desert!
When i was working as a personal assistant and wore sandals everyday to work cause it was sooo hot! i found this mushroom on my boss's lawn ha ha.  Look at the funky tan lines on my toesies!! i miss getting my toes done =[.  Too broke now lol
One of my absolute most favorite memories, Marco Polo's Pizza in Uptown Whittier with my best friend Tozzi.  She always gets mushroom and i always get pineapple, we were so cute.
Dan Hunter from Analog Rebellion! i took this last May when i went to see him perform in Upland! He is wonderful! one of my absolute favorite bands and i cannot wait for him to go on tour again!

Now just a few things that make me smile:

Nights in a Cemetery?

Recently i watched a film named Valentine's Day, the movie wasn't too great i must admit, but there was a scene in the movie where the character that Topher Grace plays takes out the character that Anne Hathaway plays.  He buys her tickets to go see a movie at the cemetery.  At first i was like "that is so awesome! i wish we really had that!" and then i thought about it and was like "wait a second I'm going to google it cause after all, i do live close to LA and LA has it all!"

So i did! and i found that they do indeed play movies at the cemetery in Hollywood! they play old flicks like black and whites (which i love) and I'm so excited! they also do musical performances, though, the music is performed indoors it seems.  But the movies are played outdoors while you sit on the grass picnic style!

They play the flicks on the back of a building as shown above, look at all those wonderful California palm trees!

Is there something weird about how much the idea of old movies in a dark cemetery thrills me? I mean i know that they play movies outdoors like that at other places like the Roosevelt hotel in Hollywood but this is a cemetery! ha ha Its officially on my to do list! in fact, i believe that ill share my to do list with all of you! hmmm, blog ideas? I think so!

I hope some of you go and tell me about it! and if you already have gone then, please tell me about it! ha ha =]

Movies To Love For, Whip It!

Late but better than never!

I was hella busy this weekend and wasn't able to sit and do my Saturday Segment "Movies To Love For" but since i have a window of time open right now, well its obvious so i should probably just get to it!

My pick for this (last =[ ) week is Whip It!!  This flick screams girl power and adversity!

Every time i watch it i wanna throw some skates on and go kick some serious ass! Too bad i don't own any skates... or know how to skate.. To do list?? could be!

There are so many familiar faces in this movie like Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore who not only has a fantastically funny role in this movie but also directed it! check her out!

This flick is about a 17 year old girl named Bliss, shes a native Texan so her mom urges her to be in pageants.  Bliss hates them! shes more of an "alternative" gal (ha ha).  One day while out buying boots that her mother doesn't approve of Bliss stumbles on a flier for Roller Derby! I'm sure you can guess what comes next =] YES! she joins the team and starts a new adventure, finds love, comes up with a kick ass derby name (Babe Ruthless) and in the end of the flick some clarity.  I give this movie a enormous thumbs up! I recommend it to everyone! please watch it and let me know what you thought!

Movies to Love for!

Hello dolls and gents, lately I've been trying to come up with new ideas to blog about and last night while i was browsing my DVDs in my most comfy pj's it came to me.  Having a weekly segment about movies that i not only recommend but that i love!

With that said! last weekend i was browsing through random channels trying to find something good to watch when i stumbled across a movie named Amelie.  It's a french film about a young, beautiful girl named Amelie played by the amazing Audrey Tautou.  She works at a coffee shop and lives in the most adorable red-walled apartment I've ever seen.  Amelie is a strange girl that does all these out of the ordinary day to day things involving the people around her.  She strives to make peoples lives better and finally hers at the very end of the movie.  I love seeing all of the Paris scenery when she goes off on her little adventures.  I love how a photo booth has  A LOT of importance in this film and i especially adore the little joke she plays on her dad with the garden gnome!

Anyways! i highly recommend this movie, but, it is a french film so its completely in french.  In other words, if you don't like reading subtitles then i do not recommend it ha ha.  But since i LOVE the french language i didn't mind! i tried to learn a few words then spent the rest of my day speaking to my dog Chester in french.

If you are a dreamer at heart and float in the realm of the hopeless romantics then please watch this amazing film!

Her adorable Red Apartment! isn't it French Chic???
